Actually, that could be possible. There were 3 Mijares Brothers who came from Spain who settled in the Visayas. Ask them if they know that story. If they are real Mijareses, they should know that. :P
jejeje....funny one time, I met an old guy who was from Samar.. when I looked at his papers he is a Mijares, and when I told him about me being a Mijares, he told me the same story. Also the story of the name's origin re: "mijo" or millet seeds was told to me years ago by a 2nd cousin...
You know, I have friends with all these surnames. Baka relations nyo. :D
