The Dancing Inmates do the "Jump"

Latest dance!

This is a tribute to all Prison facilities in the Philippines (8 and counting) who are now adopting this non-violent approach to rehabilitation! Thank you, inmates deserve a second chance! If we make prisons a living hell for them, then we might just be turning devils out of them once they are released. Cruel methods to achieve discipline are a thing of the past! So, keep on dancing!

  1. Now that is a great presentation. *claps*

On a side note: I do hope they enjoy dancing and were not forced to do it even if it is good for their health, not to mention their sanity.

  2. I think tho whether they are forced or not, I think it is a good discipline regime. It forces them to do something creatively as well as make them work with other people whom usually they would not associate outside of their own built-in cliques (gangs etc). Not only that they get the health benefits of good dancing and the whole thing humanizes the prison experience as a whole...

  3. That's true. Instead of wasting away and wallowing in despair or engaging in prison gang activities, they do something as a group resulting in social interaction.

I read somewhere that aside from the dances, the prison also allows the inmates and detainees to engage in money-making activities to help them raise funds either to fund their defense or to give to their families.

  4. Totally amazing! murderers/rapists/con guys/ whatever...all united and what a show....fantastic!! Most important they seem to be enjoying themselves...lotsa smiles and 'happy faces'...you can't force that scene (even with a 'cattle prod'..ouch) Found 'integrated' prison rather strange...well for New Zealand anyway. Suspect some in confinement have a much better life rather than 'on the streets!'...probably re offend to get back to a secure environment- bed/meals/mates etc! I do a lot of volunteer work...'Kids with Rage' & 'Dysfunctional Families'....counsel both. Riain..have a request...can't/don't know how to 'download 'Jump'...would you be kind enough to send me such to ...kevan@slingshot.co.nz .....reason why...I am going to send your 'post' to my Member of Parliament for "Correction Services' (plus 'Thriller' which one can 'download') as a suggestion for a possible outlet/solution for our 'Troubled Youth' would be ever grateful if you would do such. Kindest Regards Kevan.
